Earlier this year a client of mine came up with the idea of setting up a Coaching Bursary Scheme. While she was working on her values she discovered that ‘making a difference’ was what was driving most of what she did. Making a difference to her business, making a difference to her staff, making a difference to her family and friends. But the kind of ‘making a difference’ that she didn’t feel she was fulfilling was more to do with other people. She wanted to know how she could make a difference to other people that she doesn’t know without giving up her job; making sacrifices that were not in tune with what she and her family were prepared to make.
As a bit of fun and to illustrate I thought her point was, I showed her this clip.
Fast forward and 5 months later we have 12 (just about to add another 4) people on the Coaching Bursary Scheme. The Bursary covers 60% of the cost of coaching enabling people who may not have been sure about coaching to try it at a relatively low risk.
